Umno Women chief backs unity authorities, urges larger roles for females

The Umno Women chief, Datuk Seri Noraini Ahmad, has said that the Malay party’s decision to join forces with its long-standing political rivals to type a unity authorities demonstrates its commitment to prioritising nationwide interest. Addressing over a thousand Umno girls delegates at the Umno general meeting 2023 in Kuala Lumpur, Noraini emphasised that the political partnership is evidence of Umno’s maturity as a celebration.
“This collaboration has confirmed that Umno and Barisan Nasional, as an enormous party, are able to put the pursuits of the country above ego and dignity. We never imagined that we might be working with our political rivals. In today’s political reality, there are no extra associates or opponents. There are solely allies,” she said.
Despite some opposition from Umno grassroots members, Noraini urged all members to embrace the decision wholeheartedly. She argued that the celebration must work together to ensure political, economic, and social stability within the country.
“We ought to accept the coalition in this unity government with an open heart. Why? Because we’ve roles and duties. We want to ensure that political, financial and social stability in this country could be established. Remember, we’re not a dominant celebration. We’re not going to contest all the seats. We have to work collectively. We must compromise. To deliver victory to the unity authorities, which we assist together,” she mentioned.
