A British photographer has had a sickening collection of photos printed in thesun.co.uk after witnessing what he described as “a wildlife house of horrors”.
37 yr outdated environmental photojournalist Aaron Gekoski says he witnessed the reveals on a tour of Thailand’s zoos and can now campaign for extra restrictions over the trade.
In the article he claims… “Orangutans are shown being pressured to struggle in boxing rings with gloves strapped to their hands, an elephant performs methods on a stone stage after which afterwards they’re locked up with the others in hellish conditions”.
Some of the zoos Aaron visited embrace Safari World close to Bangkok, Pata Zoo in the capital and Phuket Zoo. He wrote in his blog, “What I witnessed was shocking and extremely distressing.”
Thailand’s animal shows are coming beneath increasing attack as westerners complain concerning the appalling conditions animals are saved, the ‘tricks’ they are pressured to perform and questions about the coaching methods used to get the animals to perform. Aaron claims that many animals are crushed and mistreated and have their spirits damaged by handlers, rendering them fully submissive.
“Yet Tools aren’t aware of the abuse that takes place or how poor the standard of life is for many captive animals.”
“These images depict the exploitative and totally disrespectful use of wild animals, being pressured to entertain the ill-informed and mindless,” mentioned Chris Draper, the Head of Animal Welfare & Captivity on the Born Free Foundation.
